Other proposals

Beyond the core roadmap and research roadmap being put forward, over 40 proposals have been submitted to the community for consideration. If all are voted through for treasury funding by DReps, we could see a strategically upgraded Cardano ecosystem characterized by:

New virtual machines, ZK-proof systems, and scalable APIs will lay the groundwork for faster, more private, and modular dApps.

Core libraries like Pallas, Lucid, and PyCardano will be maintained and upgraded, ensuring developer tooling remains accessible and up-to-date.

Proposals like UTxO-RPC and NFTCDN aim to dramatically simplify data access and asset handling, accelerating dApp development.

Proposals around stablecoins, fiat on/off-ramps, and custody solutions will make it easier for institutions and users to bridge traditional finance with blockchain.

Bitcoin integration and liquidity routing through platforms like Maestro and zkFold will help Cardano tap into external value flows.

The ecosystem will support smart contracts in Python (OpShin), Scala (Scalus), and enhanced Haskell - broadening the developer base and increasing composability.

Toolchains will be designed for ease of testing, debugging,
and deployment, closing the gap between research and production.

Proposals to strengthen voting infrastructure, measure governance
health, and support roadmap consultations point toward a more
accountable, community-driven model.

Real-world and virtual workshops on topics like the future roadmap
offer localized input into global decisions - bridging the gap between stakeholders and strategy.

Multiple proposals decentralize critical services - data APIs, Catalyst infrastructure, and governance tooling, removing reliance on single entities and promoting ecosystem resilience.

These efforts align with Cardano’s Voltaire goals: a blockchain that
governs itself transparently and securely at scale.

Together, these proposals reflect a coordinated push to evolve Cardano into a platform that’s scalable, developer-friendly, real-world ready, and directed and governed by its global community.
